Dharwad: Murugha Mutt Swamiji Reverses Thursday’s Statement

Dharwad: Mallikarjun Swamiji of Murugha Mutt in Dharwad has once again issued a clarification regarding his statement from Thursday evening. The Swamiji, in a press release issued by former mayor Iresh Anchatgeri on his behalf, had stated that he and his mutt do not endorse the statement made by Fakira Dingaleshwar Swamiji. Additionally, he emphasized that Murugha Mutt does not interfere in any political matters.

The Swamiji had participated in a Chintana Manthana meeting organized under the leadership of Fakira Dingaleshwar Swamiji of Bhavaikya Mutt, Shirahatti. During the meeting, resolutions were passed, although these were not made public. Dingaleshwar Swamiji had publicly criticized the current MP and BJP candidate from Dharwad, Pralhad Joshi, urging the BJP leadership to change his constituency, alleging bias towards the Lingayat community and injustice towards them.

In his statement on Thursday, Mallikarjun Swamiji distanced himself from Dingaleshwar Swamiji’s opinions, stating that they were personal and not supported by his Math. He also claimed ignorance regarding the meeting’s agenda.

However, today (Friday), the Swamiji reversed his stance, asserting that his statement from yesterday was made under pressure. He alleged that some individuals approached him and coerced him into signing the statement. The identity of these individuals remains unclear, prompting the Swamiji to seek clarification, particularly regarding whether it was Iresh Anchatgeri or someone else who pressured him.
